Cine EBX
"Take the cinema to where the audience is”
Cine EBX was designed to be an itinerant outdoors Cinema, taking culture and knowledge to areas with little or no cinema facilities, bringing national cinema to a much wider and more varied public. The project showed hits from recent national cinema, such as “Se eu Fosse Você”, the classic “O Auto da Compadecida” and “Saneamento Básico” among many others, on Brazil’s largest inflatable screen (13m X 8m). The project used the latest generation digital equipment for projection, sound, lighting and documentation, installed in a Studio-Truck.
In addition to events in public squares, the project showed documentaries to specific audiences in the local community, such as, for example, students from state and local public schools. The documentaries were followed by discussions with authorities on the subject. This promoted dialogue between business and the community by building regional knowledge on issues of global relevance such as drugs, use of water, global warming, slave labor and violence against women, among others.
The project prioritized access to communities surrounding LLX’s ventures. LLX is part of the EBX Group operating in the logistics sector. CINE EBX 2009 held viewings in 6 cities, serving 28 communities close to the Superporto do Açu (Açu Superport) , Fluminense, in the northern region of Rio de Janeiro, and the Porto Sudeste, on the State’s Green Coast. The project showed films to more than 12,000 and spectators, proof of the success of the project in the regions where it was performed.
