OGX, MMX, LLX and PortX are included on the list of companies on the new Ibovespa theoretical portfolio, the Brazilian stock market’s main average price performance indicator. It portrays the behavior of the main securities traded on the BM&FBovespa and demonstrates the importance and good performance of publicly traded companies on the market.
OSX receives the first of two sister ships in the VLCC (Very Large Crude Oil Carrier) category. The vessels will be converted into two floating oil production, storage and offloading units, the FPSOs OSX-4 and OSX-5, expanding the company’s portfolio.
OGX receives its first wet Christmas tree for oil production, which permits production from subsea wells.

The Company, which went from 33rd to 29th place, was the only private company in Brazil on the list and the fifth largest in the world exclusively operating in the oil and gas exploration and production industry.

The anchor piles that comprise the FPSO OSX-1 mooring system arrive in Brazil.
OGX concludes the drilling of the OGX-26 horizontal well in the Waimea accumulation of the Campos Basin, an important stage leading up to oil production. The formation test confirms potential for up to 40,000 barrels per day.
MMX and LLX sign a contract with Usiminas for the operation, over 30 years, of the Pau de Vinho Mine owned by Mineração Usiminas. The contract also calls for the shipping of 39 million tons iron through the Sudeste Superport for five years, starting in 2012, contributing to the consolidation of MMX in the mining market.
The EBX Group signs a cooperation agreement with General Electric for the development of technologies in Brazil.

OSX obtains a Preliminary License for its Açu Naval Construction Unit (UCN Açu).
MPX expands its licensed energy generation portfolio, obtaining a Preliminary License for installation of a 3,330 MW natural gas plant at the Açu Superport.
Forbes, the U.S. magazine dedicated to economics, finance and business, discloses its list of fortunes for 2011. Businessman Eike Batista, president of the EBX Group, maintains the 8th position, with US$ 30 billion (US$ 3 billion more than the value estimated for 2010). According to the magazine, Batista is the richest Brazilian in the world.
Capitalization announced by MPX through BNDESPAR, Gávea Investimentos and controlling shareholder Eike Batista, in the amount of R$ 1.3 billion, strengthens the company’s projects in Maranhão and Colombia.
After conducting an 18-month exploration campaign, OGX reaches an important milestone, of 30 wells drilled in the Campos Basin.

MPX obtains an Installation License for building a 230-KV transmission line from the Pecém II thermoelectric power plant. The document permits construction of the transmission line that will carry power produced by the plant to the substation at São Gonçalo do Amarante (CE).
OSX signs a contract with Hyundai Samho, a subsidiary of Hyundai Heavy Industries, with a letter of intention to acquire a 1,600-ton crane (which corresponds to the weight of 2,000 compact-size automobiles), known as Goliath. The equipment will be installed at the Açu Superport Industrial Complex and will make it possible to assemble large sections of ships or production units like FPSOs in a single operation.
Approval of the 150-km route of the MPX rail line in Colombia to speed up the startup date of the project. The railroad will connect the company’s mines to its port, located in the municipality of Dibulla, on the Atlantic coast of the country.

OGX participates for the first time in the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), the main world event for the oil and gas industry that is held annually in Houston (USA).
The Mines and Metal Museum in Belo Horizonte receives the visit of a group from the Herity Institute, an organization that fosters quality development of cultural heritage sites, based in Rome, Italy. The Museum will be the first in Latin America to receive the international certificate awarded by the institute.
MMX posts net income of R$ 63.8 million and EBITDA of R$ 39.7 million in the first quarter of the year. The earnings results, published in May, demonstrated that net income rose 184% compared to the first quarter of 2010.
MPX obtains an Installation License permitting the startup of the construction phase of the Santo Antonio dos Lopes (MA) thermoelectric project, with the capacity for initial generation of 1,863MW.
MPX receives the turbo-generator for the Pecém II (CE) thermoelectric plant. The equipment is considered the “heart of the plant” because it is through the device that the production of electric power is made possible.
Integrated Territory Management (ITM) is implemented in the north region of the state of Rio de Janeiro after a series of meetings with employees of the Açu Superport, professionals from outsourced companies and leaders of a number of different industries. ITM is a management model that involves government, companies, civil society organizations, educational institutions and regional leaders and promotes systemic balance for the regions in which the Group has operations. It takes into account the three pillars of sustainability — social, economic and environmental — plus a fourth dimension, cultural.

OGX and MPX declare the commercial feasibility of two discoveries in the Parnaíba Basin in Maranhão. The estimated production from the accumulations in the Gavião Azul and Gavião Real fields is 5.7 million m3 of gas as of 2013.

MMX makes its first shipment to South Korean partner SK Networks. A total of 144,000 tons of iron ore was sent from the CSN Port in Itaguaí (RJ).
The Tauá Solar Power Plant (CE) is elected one of the 100 most important green initiatives in the economy over the past decade. MPX begins the capitalization process, for up to R$ 1.3 billion, with the participation of the BNDESPAR, Gávea Investimentos, the controlling shareholder of the company, Eike Batista, and minority shareholders. Funds are announced as being of priority importance for the development of the gas-fueled thermoelectric power plants in Maranhão and the integrated mining system in Colombia.
The National Petroleum Agency (ANP) authorizes LLX to build the Tanking and Oil Treatment Unit (UTP) at the Açu Superport. The authorization represents a milestone for the company, contributing to the consolidation of the superport as the largest industrial-port complex project in Latin America.
OSX receives the "Deal of the Year - 2010" prize, in the Project Finance category, from Marine Money International. The award, which is one of the most important in the industry, was for the company’s successful operation in obtaining funding for the purchase of the FPSO OSX-1.
Acquisition of the coal-fueled Seival thermoelectric plant was approved, along with an installation license for the generation of 600 MW of power in Rio Grande do Sul.

OSX signs an agreement with Firjan, through Senai of Rio de Janeiro, to train 7,800 people by 2013 for the Açu Shipbuilding Construction Unit (UCN Açu). The agreement is the first step to allow OSX to begin structuring the Naval Institute of Technology (ITN), which besides training people for an industry that is in full expansion will also stimulate research into new technologies.
Amapari Energia, a diesel-fueled thermoelectric power plant owned by MPX, celebrates its third anniversary in operation in Amapá. The project is a partnership with Eletronorte.
MMX signs a protocol of intentions with the government of the state of Minas Gerais, committing to investing R$ 4 billion in the state by 2014.
A Preliminary License is issued for additional capacity of 1,859 MW at the MPX Parnaíba Thermoelectric Power Plant Complex in Maranhão, where the company already has an Installation License to generate 1,863 MW through natural gas facilities.

An initiative of the EBX Group in partnership with the BioAtlântica Institute (Ibio), Brasil Florestas, government and civil societies, the project will involve investments of R$ 2.3 million to set up the Corridor.
OGX ends the first half of the year of 2011 having drilled 55 wells and invested R$ 1.3 billion in its activities in Brazil.

MMX signs a preliminary agreement with Minerinvest Mineração that establishes the bases for negotiating contracts for the annual shipment of 5 million tons of iron ore through the Sudeste Superport. Minerinvest also will supply another 5 million tons of iron ore per year to MMX. After signed, the contract is valid for 10 years.
LLX is one of 28 companies winning prizes in the Brazilian Environmental Benchmarking 2011 contest, which recognizes companies with the best socio-environmental management practices in Brazil. The company participated in the award competition through two programs: Casa Legal (program to resettle 297 families from Vila do Engenho and Ponta de Mariquita, in Itaguaí-RJ); and Fishing Social Investment (in support of infrastructure projects and improvements in production at fishing communities in the Sepetiba Bay area). The two programs are related to the construction of the Sudeste Superport, which in May was acquired by MMX. The current owner of the Project is committed to maintaining the social and environmental programs initiated by LLX.
OSX announces its Action Plan for 2011 – 2015 for the construction of the UCN Açu and production of naval offshore units. UCN Açu’s activities are scheduled to start up in the first quarter of 2013.

MMX announces second quarter earnings results. Company reports net income of R$ 90.9 million, 43% higher than that those observed in the first quarter of 2011.
The Tauá Solar Plant (Ceará) is inaugurated and MPX announces its intention to increase the size of the venture to 2MW. It is the first solar powered plant in Brazil to be connected to the national electrical system.
National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) approves the acquisition by MPX of the Bertin MC2 Joinvillle and MC2 João Neiva projects, that have permits authorizing the construction of natural gas powered thermoelectric plants with a capacity of 660 MW. The projects will be built as part of the Parnaíba power generation complex in Santo Antonio dos Lopes, Maranhão.
The FPSO OSX-1 leaves Singapore en route to Brazil.
MPX wins the A-3 energy auction with more than R$ 6.5 billion in contracts. This represents a 20-year contract for a combined cycle natural gas plant with 500 MW of installed capacity that will be built in the state of Maranhão.
The Sudeste Superport takes delivery of anchor bolts used to secure the foundations of ore car unloading stations.
The Minas Gerais State Council for Environmental Policy (Copam) issued a Preliminary License (LP) for the expansion of the MMX Serra Azul Unit. The license certifies the socio-environmental viability of the project.
LLX and FCA (Ferrovia Centro Atlantica) signed a memorandum of understanding for feasibility studies for the installation of a railroad line between the Açu Superport, under construction in Sao Joao da Barra, and the region of Ambaí in Nova Iguacú - both in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The studies, performed together, enable the creation of a technical, commercial and financial project for the construction of a rail link between the two municipalities operated by the FCA. The implementation of this corridor will allow the Açu Superport to be integrated into the national railroad network, allowing the transportation of products such as iron ore, steel products and coal, as well as other bulk solids and liquids.
EBX supports construction of the Hospital Pro Criança, for the treatment of child cardiac patients in Botafogo in Rio de Janeiro. The hospital, which received R$ 30 million from the Group, was named after Jutta Batista, the mother of the president of the EBX Group, Eike Batista.

OGX receives a Preliminary Permit and an Installation License for the Waimea Long-Duration Test (TLD) and Production Development in the Campos Basin (BM-C-41 block).
The Açu Superport is the theme of the first advertising campaign of the EBX Group. Launched by LLX, the campaign was published in major newspapers, and carried by radio stations, TV stations, cinemas and billboards in northern Rio de Janeiro state. The campaign presents the benefits that the Group is bringing to the region.
MPX and MMX sign an agreement for R$ 3.3 billion to guarantee the supply of energy from the Parnaíba (MA) Thermoelectric Complex for the Serra Azul Unit (MG). The agreement is to provide 200 MW average for a period of 15 years. The companies also signed a Letter of Commitment to adopt a self-production structure.
OGX and MPX acquire 50% ownership of a block in the onshore Parnaíba Basin (MA), and now hold eight exploration blocks with total area over 24,500 km2. The acquisition reflects the interest of the companies in expanding their activities in the region.
OSX signs a contract for the logistical operation of the FPSO OSX-1.
Report by SRK Consulting certifies 3.1 billion in mineral resources of MMX, a volume 106% greater than that released in March. Study areas include the Serra Azul and Bom Sucesso units in MG, and Corumbá, MS, and Pau de Vinho Mine, leased from Usiminas in Minas Gerais.

The EBX Group launches the EBX Cine project in schools, for the benefit of some 4,600 pupils in municipal schools located around the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, where the Group already supports the Clean Lagoon project for the environmental recovery of the body of water.
The company begins purchasing R$ 475 million in critical equipment for the Serra Azul Unit expansion project. The purchase includes rotating crushers and semi-autogenous and vertical ball grinders. The deadline for delivery of equipment is up to 18 months.
MMX submits the Environmental Impact Report (EIA/RIMA) study to the State Environmental Institute (INEA) of Rio de Janeiro for the capacity expansion of the Sudeste Superport from 50 million tons of iron ore to 100 million tons.
MMX concludes the drilling of the Sudeste Superport’s tunnel, a critical step in the implementation of the project.

EBX Group participates through OSX, OGX and LLX at OTC Brasil 2011, the premier offshore technology fair in the world, held in Brazil for the first time. The Group’s stand is the largest at the fair, 300 m2.
The president of the EBX Group, Eike Batista, is among the 50 most influential people in global finance, according to Bloomberg Markets Magazine. He is the only Brazilian on the list, which includes businessmen Carlos Slim and Steve Jobs.
The EBX Group creates SIX Soluções Inteligentes, the group's first investment in technology. The company begins its activities with the acquisition of control of AC Engineering.

MMX posts record sales, totaling 2.1 million tons in the third quarter.
The EBX Group raises its social networking profile with the launch of Fan Page (facebook.com/grupoebx) and Twitter (twitter.com/grupoebx). The Brandchannel (youtube.com/grupoebx) is revised.
OGX began drilling its first well in the Espírito Santo Basin. The company has a 50% interest in five exploration blocks in the basin, and its Perenco partner holds the remaining 50% and is responsible for the operation.
MPX receives its first license deployment in Colombia authorizing the start of construction of the open pit Canaveral mine.
The Engineer Eliezer Batista Private Natural Heritage Reserve (RPPN), created and maintained by MMX since 2008, won the first prize RPPN trophy in the Private Sector category. The award recognizes the efforts of individuals, companies and organizations working on behalf of private reserves and the protection of Brazil's natural heritage.
For the second consecutive year, MPX wins the ECO Award, considered one of the most important in the field of sustainability. This time, the company was recognized for the first solar power generation project in operation in Brazil, the Tauá Solar Energy Plant (CE), in the Sustainability category in Products or Services. An agreement between LLX and InterMoor for the construction of a unit in the Açu Superport to provide logistical support and specialized services to the oil and gas industry is signed.
