We believe that investing in sports is not just for entertainment, but also for health, quality of life and education. We invest in athletes, as well as initiatives that promote social inclusion and promoting citizenship through sport.

Sponsored by the EBX Group and with support from the government of the State of Rio de Janeiro, RJX has put Rio back among the national elite in men's volleyball. The team was introduced in July 2011 and made its debut with five world champions from the Brazil National Team (Dante, Luca, Marlon, Alan and Theo). Its home court is RJX Maracanãzinho. The athletes have a training court, official courts for games, a fully-equipped weight room, physiotherapy room, an office, an auditorium and a locker room.

The EBX Group sponsors three Brazilian beach volleyball athletes:: the doubles team of Maria Clara and Carolina Salgado, as well as Peter Solberg, all children of former Brazilian national team player, Isabel Solberg.

OGX, the EBX Group's oil and gas company, sponsors Brazilian racecar driver, Bruno Senna, who is part of the Lotus Renault Formula 1 team. Nephew of three-time, Formula 1 World Champion, Ayrton Senna, Bruno made his automobile racing debut in 2004. He moved up to Formula 3 and GP2 in 2010, and for the first time drove for a Formula 1 team. In 2011, age 27, he started as a reserve driver and was later confirmed as a member of the Lotus Renault race tream.

The EBX Group supports 160 social and environmental initiatives in Brazil, including a conservation program for approximately 800,000 hectares (1,976,843 acres), encompassing conservation areas, parks and private natural reserves.

The EBX Group, in partnership with state and local government agencies of Rio de Janeiro, is sponsoring the environmental recovery of the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, one of Rio's most significant scenic locations.

The EBX Group has invested in the conservation of 400,000 hectares (988,421 acres) of protected areas and five Private Nature Reserves, as well as another 400,000 hectares in the Muriquí Ecological Corridor, one of the largest environmental protection projects in Brazil's Atlantic Forest. Other important initiatives that the Group supports are the Caatinga Association and the nesting sea turtles monitoring program, in partnership with the Tamar Project, along 62 km (38 miles) of coastline.

In the social arena, the group supports the UPPs project (Pacifying Police Units) project, guaranteeing that it has resources to satisfy its logistics, equipment and facilities needs. The Group also supports training programs for young adult volleyball players and the extension of the Bernardinho Volleyball School in communities occupied by the UPPs.

The EBX Group developed a cultural heritage preservation and sponsorship program to support the Campos Orchestra and provide incentives for national cinema. Since 2008, the Group has sponsored eight, full-length feature films, including Suprema Felicidade by Arnaldo Jabor, Heleno in which Rodrigo Santoro plays the soccer star Heleno de Freitas, and Cinco Vezes Favela, agora por nós mesmos (5 x Favela, Now by Ourselves), a collective production led by filmmaker Cacá Diegues.

In operation since March 2010, the Museum of Mining and Metals (MMM) in Belo Horizonte is an initiative of the EBX Group. The space pays tribute to the mining and metallurgical history of Minas Gerais and features stories, curiosities and scientific information about the metals extraction process.

The museum is part of Belo Horizonte's Praça da Liberdade Cultural Corridor and occupies the Prédio Rosa building, where the former headquarters of the State Department of Education were located. It was restored and renovated by architectural engineer Paulo Mendes da Rocha. Work included restoration of 80% of the paintings on the building's walls and maintenance of the first elevator ever installed in Belo Horizonte.
