Tuesday, November 08, 2011 MPX granted environmental license for Cañaverales Mine in Colombia

MPX announced today that the Environment and Sustainable Development Ministry of Colombia granted the environmental license for the Cañaverales open-pit mine, authorizing MPX to begin construction works.

Thursday, October 20, 2011 MPX announces sponsorship for construction of a park at the Pediatric Center for Cancer, in Ceará

MPX, an energy company of Eike Batista’s EBX Group, will once again sponsor actions by the Peter Pan Association (APP) by building a park adjacent to the Pediatric Center for Cancer (CPC). A total of R$ 250,000 will be invested in installing a recreation area with a lake, creek, trees and toys for the children and youth under treatment at the hospital, which is a reference in humanized treatment in the Northeast region. The cornerstone will be placed on Thursday, October 20th. The sponsorship complements the R$ 1 million donation made in 2010 by MPX for finishing the CPC.

Tuesday, November 08, 2011 MMX posts record sales in the 3rd quarter of 2011

Mining company MMX Mineração e Metálicos S.A., part of entrepreneur Eike Batista’s EBX Group, released this Monday (7/11) its 3Q11 results. In this period the company had record sales of 2.1 million tons of iron ore.
