REX
REX invests in real estate development in the vicinity of EBX Group projects and in other special opportunities. In addition to owning land with strategic locations in states such as Rio de Janeiro, Ceará and Santa Catarina, it also includes in its portfolio Hacienda Castilla, the third largest contiguous area of Chile, covering 240,000 hectares.
The Hacienda Castilla offers unique opportunities for real estate development, tourism and entertainment options with a new energy and port complex being built by MPX on the site. The complex includes a thermal power plant of 2,100 MW and a port that will be built by EBX to receive thermal coal for MPX. MMX will also use the port to export iron ore that it will produce in the country, where it has acquired mining rights located within a radius of 90 km from Copiapó, in an area of approximately 1,760 hectares.
In São João da Barra (RJ), where the LLX Superporto do Açu (Steel Superport) is being built, REX has developed an urban planning program that will be deployed to meet the region’s population growth.
In Santa Catarina, in the municipalities of Biguaçu and Governador Celso Ramos, REX intends to develop real estate projects in the residential and industrial sectors.
In Ceará, more specifically in Pecém, land belonging to REX covering 349.5 hectares is leased to MPX to allow the building a thermal power plant.
